The movie I chose for this project is “Mary Poppins,” which tells the story of a magical nanny named Mary who descends from the sky and brings joy to a family.

The character I designed is the protagonist of the film, Mary Poppins. I created a fairy-tale-inspired dress for her, along with a beautiful floral umbrella and a sturdy handbag, all designed with a British style in mind.

Another character I designed is Jane Banks, one of the two children in the family from this film. She is a little girl, and I designed a plaid-textured dress for her, along with a lovely bow-adorned hat and an adorable white rabbit doll. Her overall style is also British-inspired.

Next is the environment design. The first scene I designed is the interior of the family’s house. The most prominent feature in this scene is the spiral staircase. I was deeply impressed by the elegant scene in the movie where Mary slides down the spiral staircase, which is why I chose to design this setting. The overall style of the scene also embodies a British aesthetic.

The second scene I designed is a garden, inspired by the sequence in the film where Mary and her friend dance in the painted world. That world resembles a park, filled with flowers and forests—utterly dreamlike, as if from a fairy tale. Therefore, I created this garden, complete with various picnic items scattered on the grass, resulting in an overall atmosphere that is exceptionally warm and cozy.

The third design is a British-style town, which is based on the setting of the town where the family lives in the film.
